Tire Manufacturing Process

Update Time: 05 Aug 2022

Mixing
You can mix up to 30 raw materials in the rubber of your tires. The proportion of raw materials depends on the performance goals of the tires. It is made up of many types of rubber, fillers and other raw materials. They are mixed together in a giant mixer called Banbury mixer to produce a black, viscous compound that will be used for calendering.

After the rubber to be kneaded is cooled, it is sent to a special open mill where the rubber is cut into strips that will form the basic structure of the tire. At this stage, other parts of the tire are also prepared, some of which are covered with another type of rubber.

Forming
The tires are assembled from the inside out. Fabric parts, wire belts, beads, plies, treads and other components are placed in a tire building machine, ensuring that each part is in its precise position. The output looks a bit like the final product, called a green tire.

Vulcanization
The green tire is placed in a heated mold and the pressure cure is for vulcanization, and the components of all the tires are pressed together and given the final shape of the tire, including its tread pattern and the manufacturer's sidewall markings.
